Instantly's pricing looks simple until you hit the active leads limit. Here's what each plan actually gives you and where agencies get tripped up.

TL;DR
Instantly keeps its pricing structure clean: three sending plans and an optional data add-on. The plans differ primarily on active leads and monthly sending volume. What trips people up is understanding what 'active leads' actually means -- and what happens when you manage multiple clients across separate workspaces.
| Plan | Price | Active leads | Emails/month | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Growth | $30/mo | 1,000 | 5,000 | Solo founders, early-stage teams sending 100-200 emails/day |
| Hypergrowth | $77/mo | 25,000 | 100,000 | Growing teams, small agencies, multiclient ops at moderate volume |
| Light Speed | $286/mo | Unlimited | 500,000 | Agencies with serious sending volume across many clients |
Unlimited mailboxes on every plan is a real differentiator. You pay per workspace subscription, not per mailbox.
This is the most misunderstood part of Instantly's pricing. 'Active leads' does not mean total leads stored in the system -- it means leads currently enrolled in a live campaign sequence. You can import and store more leads than your active limit. But you cannot have more leads simultaneously progressing through sequences than your plan allows.
In practice: on Growth, if you have 1,000 leads enrolled in active campaigns and try to enroll lead 1,001, it will not send until another lead finishes or you pause it. On Hypergrowth, 25,000 simultaneous active leads is enough for most individual users and small agencies. Light Speed's unlimited active leads matters most for agencies running campaigns across dozens of clients.
Each Instantly workspace is its own subscription. Agencies managing multiple clients typically give each client their own workspace for clean separation of mailboxes, contacts, and reporting. That means each client = one subscription fee. Two clients on Hypergrowth = $154/month. Five clients = $385/month. This adds up faster than the plan prices suggest.
Instantly Data is a separate $47/month add-on that gives you access to their built-in B2B contact database plus 50,000 export credits per month. It is not included in any sending plan -- you add it on top.
Whether it is worth it depends on your data workflow. If you already use Apollo, Clay, or another enrichment tool for prospecting, Instantly Data is redundant. If you want to do list building and sending inside one tool without a separate Apollo or ZoomInfo subscription, the $47/month is a reasonable consolidation play for low-to-moderate prospecting volume.
No. Warmup emails sent through Instantly's warmup network do not count against your monthly email quota. The sending limits only apply to outbound campaign emails to real prospects. Warmup runs independently and does not affect your Growth or Hypergrowth quota.
Instantly offers annual billing at a discount, typically around 20-25% off compared to monthly. For a committed team on Hypergrowth, switching to annual saves roughly $185/year per workspace. The same logic applies as with any tool: start monthly, validate your usage pattern for 60 days, then switch to annual once you know which plan you actually need.
What does the active leads limit actually mean?
Active leads are contacts currently enrolled and progressing through a live campaign sequence. You can store more contacts than your limit in Instantly, but only your plan's active limit can be simultaneously moving through sequence steps. When a lead finishes a sequence, bounces, unsubscribes, or gets paused, that slot frees up for another lead.
Can I manage multiple clients on one Instantly plan?
Technically yes -- you can run multiple campaigns in one workspace. In practice, most agencies use separate workspaces per client for clean separation of mailboxes, analytics, and contacts. Each workspace requires its own subscription. If you are consolidating multiple clients into one workspace, be aware that the active leads limit applies across all campaigns in that workspace combined.
Does email warmup count toward my monthly sending limit?
No. Warmup emails sent through the Instantly warmup network are completely separate from your campaign email quota. Your monthly sending limit (5,000 on Growth, 100,000 on Hypergrowth) only counts outbound campaign emails to actual prospects.
Is annual billing worth the commitment?
If you have used Instantly for at least 60 days and are confident in the plan you need, annual billing saves roughly 20-25%. The main risk is locking into a plan that turns out to be the wrong tier -- either you outgrow it and need to upgrade mid-year, or you overpay for capacity you do not use.
Is Instantly Data worth the $47/month add-on?
Only if you do not already have a dedicated data tool. If you use Apollo, Clay, or any other B2B database for prospecting, Instantly Data duplicates that investment. If you want to build lists and run campaigns inside one platform without subscribing to a separate data provider, the add-on is a reasonable consolidation for teams sending under 50,000 emails per month.
What happens if I upgrade mid-month?
Instantly prorates mid-month upgrades. If you upgrade from Growth to Hypergrowth halfway through your billing cycle, you pay roughly half the price difference for the remainder of that month, then full Hypergrowth pricing from the next billing date. Downgrades typically take effect at the next billing anniversary.
