A fair look at ColdIQ, Frontal, and alternatives if you want GTM engineering, signal-based outbound, or a data API, without a ranked smash piece.
TL;DR
People search ColdIQ alternatives and Frontal alternatives when they are comparing GTM data products, signal-based outbound builds, and agencies that claim GTM engineering. Those are different jobs. This page separates what each company publishes about itself, so you can shortlist without treating every Clay-using agency as interchangeable. Facts below were checked against public pages on September 22, 2026, and against our earlier September 15 agency roundup where noted. Competitor client metrics on their own sites are their claims, not ours.
ColdIQ's public homepage positions a GTM Data API for Claude Code and AI agents: 40+ data providers, 700+ endpoints, lead search, enrichment, email finding, and signals. Self-serve API pricing published on that page as of this writing: Free ($0 with starter credits), Starter $99/month, Pro $199/month, Scale $499/month, with annual discounting called out. ColdIQ also markets GTM implementation and case studies with client pipeline claims on their site. Managed-service retainer dollars for agency-style work are not presented as a simple public rate card the way the API tiers are. If you need a data API your agents call, evaluate that product on coverage and credits. If you need an embedded build team inside your CRM and sequencers, evaluate the services motion separately.
Frontal's public site describes a go-to-market engine: a foundation build for messy data, disconnected tools, and weak signals, framed as a 90-day build, after which you can take the system in-house or have their operators run outbound, ads, and content. They highlight Clay tables, plays shipping on a roughly two-week cadence, dashboards, docs, and agents configured. Dollar pricing for the 90-day build is not published on the homepage as a fixed public number. Fit signal from their own framing: B2B teams with product-market fit that want a unified data and buying-signal layer feeding execution.
| ColdIQ (public) | Frontal (public) | Astra GTM (public) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Primary offer | GTM data API + GTM implementation | 90-day revenue engine build; optional operators | Fractional GTM engineering pod embedded in your stack |
| Published pricing | API tiers Free / $99 / $199 / $499 per month | Not published as a dollar amount on homepage | Not published; scoped per engagement |

| Also known for | Claude/agent-oriented data access | Signals + outbound/ads/content execution layer | Signal-based outbound systems; Clay Artisan partner |
| Company | Public positioning | When they are a fair alternative | Pricing transparency |
|---|---|---|---|
| DevCommX | Signal-based prospecting and AI multichannel outreach with CRM-integrated qualification | You want a published starting price and a 3-month initial term for signal-led outbound | Publishes a starting price of $4,500/mo on their own service pages (per our Sep 15 check) |
| Growth Engine X | B2B lead generation (public homepage framing) | You want classic lead-gen execution more than an in-house GTM OS | Not summarized here as a full public rate card; verify on their site |
| Real Good GTM | Outbound for seed to Series A B2B startups, signal-triggered meetings | Earlier-stage outbound help with a clear read on who buys | Not published on the homepage snippet we checked; ask them |
| Understory Agency | Allbound: paid media, GTM engineering, LinkedIn content, RevOps as one system | You want media + GTM engineering coordinated, not outbound alone | Paid media retainer tied to ad spend; GTM engineering custom / not published |
Astra is a fractional GTM engineering partner: we embed with GTM ops and leadership to build and run systems, data, and AI workflows on your tools. We are a Clay Solutions Partner (Artisan). We are not a self-serve data API product, and we are not a paid-media agency. Proof you can verify on this site includes work with companies like Scale AI and CoderPad (pipeline +45% cite) and detailed case studies under /case-studies. If your job to be done is API credits for Claude, ColdIQ's product may be the better first call. If your job to be done is a full allbound media system, Understory may be the better first call.
